About eVirtualStudio
eVirtualStudio was designed and developed by Andrew Coupe, a musician and software developer based in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA. The idea for eVirtualStudio grew out of the frustrations of trying to share SONAR music projects over the internet with a collaborator who lived some distance away. The major problems were moving large files over the internet and version management. If two people decided to work on the project at the same time, it was very difficult to synchronize each other's changes. When more than two people shared a project, the problems got even worse!
With eVirtualStudio, the SONAR community now has a secure, reliable, and inexpensive means of backing up, archiving and sharing SONAR projects. eVirtualStudio provides the project management infrastructure for managing users and synchronizing files to ensure that only one person at a time modifies a project. To maximize security, dependability, and convenience, we chose to partner with Amazon to store project files. To our knowledge, this is the first product to offer these types of services for a mainstream Digital Audio Workstation product. Our ultimate goal is to offer similar synchronization tools for other audio recording products.
During the beta, you can use eVirtualStudio at no cost. After the beta is completed, you will need to obtain a subscription to use the service. Pricing has not yet been announced.
